The Greatest of All Time
Muhammad Ali was an American professional boxer, widely considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. He was known not only for his incredible boxing skills but also for his charisma, activism, and outspoken personality. Ali's famous quote "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" became iconic.
Born on January 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, Cassius Clay (his birth name) started boxing at a young age. He won an Olympic gold medal in 1960 and soon after turned professional. Ali was known for his legendary fights with opponents like Joe Frazier and George Foreman.
Ali's first fight with Joe Frazier, known as the "Fight of the Century," took place on March 8, 1971. It was one of the greatest boxing matches in history.
The "Rumble in the Jungle" took place on October 30, 1974, in Kinshasa, Zaire. Ali defeated George Foreman in an epic bout.
Ali's first world heavyweight title win was against Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. It was a major upset and introduced Ali to the world.
Outside the boxing ring, Muhammad Ali was a vocal civil rights advocate and protested the Vietnam War. He was stripped of his heavyweight title but eventually regained it. Ali passed away on June 3, 2016.
Muhammad Ali's legacy transcends boxing and continues to inspire people around the world. He will forever be remembered as "The Greatest."
